Geiger For Judge
Qualified, Experienced, & Community-Minded

About the Candidate

“Our justice system is only as good as its judges.”

While standing outside the East Stroudsburg Post office in frigid temperatures this March, looking for signatures on my nomination petition, a man came up to me and asked, “So, you’re running for judge? Why should I care? Don’t all judges just apply the law? Why would my vote make a difference?”

In fact, the right judge with the right qualifications and experience can make a big difference in people’s lives.

Judges are called “your Honor” but the term needs to be earned. Every litigant who comes to the court should leave feeling that their views were properly considered and that they were treated with respect.

Here is why I believe I have the best qualifications to serve as Monroe County’s 7th Judge.

Qualifications

I worked hard all my life to excel academically. My academic accomplishments include:

  • Palmerton HS Valedictorian;
  • Full Academic Scholarship to Lafayette College where I graduated with Honors;
  • Awarded Chase Government Prize for the best written exposition in the field of political science during the academic year;
  • Awarded Novak Prize in Goverment & Law based on overall excellence in academic work and citizenship in the campus community;
  • Awarded Rexroth Prize in German for meritorious achievement in german while at Lafayette;
  • Placed in top 1% on German language entrance exam at University of Regensburg, Germany;
  • Selected for Appellate Moot Court Board in Law School where I was selected as co-President.
  • Highest rating in a national poll of lawyers and judges for both legal ability and ethics.

Experience

I have been a trial lawyer in Monroe County for more than 35 years and have jury trial experience throughout eastern Pennsylvania and have successfully handled cases worth millions of dollars.

I worked as a legal intern and translator for the U.S. Army in Frankfurt, Germany.

During my service as Monroe County Bar Association President, I created Monroe County’s first mediation program.

I am a federal court mediator and was selected by the federal courts to provide input to the federal courts on procedural rules changes.

I teach lawyers and government officials on developments on ethics, constitutional law, and tort law and have lectured on legal issues at local colleges.

Lawyers who need representation hire me because they trust my judgment and my abilities.

Community Service

When I first started my law practice, I was taught by my mentors early on that lawyers have a responsibility to contribute to their communities. In my years of practice, I have donated my time to these organizations:

  • Pocono Youth Orchestra (President);
  • Eastern Monroe Public Library (President);
  • Eastern Monroe Public Library Foundation;
  • Pocono Arts Council (President);
  • Re-Entry Program of Monroe County (Vice-President);
  • Monroe County Bar Association (President);
  • Stroudsburg High School Mock Trial coach;
  • Pleasant Valley High School Mock Trial coach;
  • Pocono Mountains Chamber of Commerce.

I was most recently selected to be on the Board of the Monroe County Historical Association and I look forward to serving this worthwhile organization.
