MCTI's Trek for Tech

5k Run/Walk in East Stroudsburg

Consider joining me on April 20 in East Stroudsburg for the MCTI Trek for Tech 5k fundraiser.

Proceeds benefit the Monroe County Special Olympics, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge and the Semper Fi Fund.

The event is a runner/walker friendly event taking place on the Levee Loop Trail at Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg.  Good cause and lots of fun. I can’t very well run for judge without getting a real run in. I hope you’ll join me. Registration information is available at

Monroe United Presentation at East Stroudsburg University

Monroe United Presentation on “Diffusion of Stereotypes

On March 25, 2019, I was part of a panel discussion sponsored by Monroe United on “Diffusion of Stereotypes” at Beers Lecture Hall on the campus of East Stroudsburg University.

The program featured presentations by me and two other panelists and then it was opened for discussion with the audience.

The event was well attended with an engaging and well-informed audience. It was a great event and I only wished we had more time to explore the issues further.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

We all had a great time at the St. Patrick’s day parade in Stroudsburg, this past Sunday (3/24/19).

The day started with a Pancake Breakfast at Stroudsburg High School to benefit “Girls on the Run.”

I am pictured here with my  children, Tim & Emily. Tim was on Spring Break and Emily came home from College to walk with us in the parade.

The weather was beautiful and the crowd seemed larger than usual. Here are a few images from “Team Geiger’s” march from the Stroudsburg High School to Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg.

Special thanks to Ray Price for lending me the use of a very cool Mustang Convertible. Thanks, Ray!

Archaelogical Dig at Stroud Mansion This Summer

Just received my new board member orientation with the Monroe County Historical Association this morning. Thanks to Russ Scott, Pat Sayler, Amy Leiser and Bret Fowler for the orientation and private tour of the Mansion.

I learned that the MCHA received a grant for an an archaeological dig this summer behind Stroud Mansion at the site of what used to be Fort Hamilton.

Dr. Jonathan Burns of Juniata College will be in charge of the archaelogical dig to recover artifacts from Fort Hamilton (1755 to 1757), and the property’s later use by the Stroud Family. I look forward to seeing what will be uncovered.

Geiger Gets 1st Ballot Position on Both Tickets

I’m pleased to report that I drew first ballot positions in the primary election on both tickets.

I’m hopeful this is a good omen for the election.

Also, I hope to see everyone at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Stroudsburg this Sunday!

Please consider attending the Girls on the Run Pocono - Luck of the Irish Pancake Breakfast before the parade. Breakfast is served from 8am-1pm in the Stroudsburg High School cafeteria, featuring all you can eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and fruit. All proceeds fund a scholarship program for the girls. Cost will be $7 for adults 13+ , $4 children 12 and under, Seniors 60+ and Veterans. Children 3 and under are free.

And if you see me with a second helping of pancakes, please stop by and say hello. I’m carbo-loading in anticipation of starting my Spring Half Marathon training.  ~Jerry
